I’ve been using Firecore’s Infuse 5 player to watch movies and TV shows on my iPad and iPhone for the past month, and I love it. Infuse 5 supports multiple media formats, Trakt.tv integration, initiative gestures, and so much more. This makes it the best video player choice on iOS.
Put.io is an interesting service that allows you to easily save files to the cloud, download torrents in less than a second due to server-side caching, and you can stream videos you upload directly from Put.io itself. In addition, RSS feeds can be watched to automatically download content.
I’ve always been a fan of fountain pens, and I was looking to get a small pocket pen that I could carry around that was tough, durable, however also nice to write with. The pen that I found fulfilling this was the Kaweco Skyline Sport pen. With a body made out of plastic, the pen is durable, light, and compact. It’s also on the cheap side of pens, under £20 when I ordered it, and comes with a steel nib that writes great.

It’s been around six months since I did the last post on my iPhone home screen. I’ve changed some of the apps on the home screen, along with the background that I use. It’s also changed from being a one page layout to a two page one, in order to be more practical.
I recently began tracking my time spent, and searching for a suitable app for it on the App Store. I wanted something that could be easily started from the widget, synced between my iPhone and iPad, and gave me detailed statistics about where my time had gone. Timelogger fits all of these purposes, and more – it allows me to easily start and stop trackers, view time spent and many more features.
One of the features added in iOS 12 was the ability for apps to have tighter integration with Siri. This means that you can use third-party apps right in Siri, and get rich feedback from them. I was never a big user of Siri, however the new changes allowed me to use the third-party apps I love in Siri.
An app that was one of the first to integrate with Siri was Carrot Weather. It allows you to quickly ask Siri for the weather, and get a detailed reply, and a rich preview of the weather. This can all be done without unlocking your phone, and all the fields can be customised. You can also request Carrot to bring up a summary for a certain data points, such as rain or cloud cover.
